Microsoft TechNet Scripting Game Result

Image
Remember the Microsoft TechNet Scripting Game that I joined last week? Now we have the Game Result for Beginner Division ... So, I only got total Score 94 out of 100. Was that a good start? I don't think so. I'm so careless. I better be a lot more careful on the next game if I'm joining it soon... next year maybe... Hmm... what is the book of today?... No, I don't offer book today. How about A VBScript Reference Poster ? The Poster is designed to make it easier to understand and memorize the VBScript Object Model much quicker. The size is 5' x 3' and is a colorized poster. This poster lays out the entire VBScript hierarchy and each listing leads you to its respective information. This poster has a list of every Object, Property, and Method. Each poster has a sample script for each Property and Method... How about that? Cool stuff for your wall huh? Then, Grab it now!!

The Scripting Game is Running

Image
The game is running and I have sent all my entries for each events. Oh no! I overlooked at one event where I have to modify one more line of code to get it right!! It is on Event 4 where I just have to modify the "Select * from Win32_Service" to "Select * from Win32_Service WHERE State=Running" . Aaarrghh!! that shows my lack of awareness in doing this... anyway, I'm loosing 5 marks for that... Hope I'm not loosing more... For those who are curious about VBScript and what can you do with it. I suggest you get this book and read it. Then you will enjoy what I'm doing with it...

Malaysia ... oh no... so, today I will submit my next Event with country name... heheheh

Profound Vibra crashed on PostMessage

I don't know what's wrong with it... I'm using VB6 like what I've done before with the Profound Vibra Software . For those who didn't know about it may read my previous post about Vibration Measurement with Profound Vibra . I can get the window handle and use PostMessage API to make the Vibra program do something on the menu... But each time I send PostMessage WM_KEYUP , the Vibra program will crash... I've passed my deadline but thank god I'm not i'm still alive... hehe... I'm still trying to fix it...

Vibration Measurement with Profound Vibra

Image
Today I have to look back to my old unfinished code... dealing with Profound Vibra device. A device to measure vibrations . What I do with this device seems so simple but not that simple. I don't have the protocol for communicating with this device neither I'm going to get them from the manufacturer. So, what I can do is simply use their software to generate something that I can manipulate then. I start with their Vibra software which can download the data from the device and export the data to CSV. Seems simple right? Yeah, I do think like that in the first place. But then, when I start doing it in VB, I struck with a lot of problems to programmatically control the Vibra software . Damn! It uses QWidget class where I cannot simply find the window class, use SendMessage and WM_COMMAND to the window because all the class looks the same. I'm trying a lot of tricks to get it working. Urrgghh!! I'm still working on it and I have no time. I got deadline by tomorrow night

Whoaa... my perl adventure got even easier... this is my screenshot of Perl Express with my stupid simple Hello World Again... hahaha... I'm trying this now... I'll be back soon.

How to Install Perl on Windows XP

Image
Hmm... I'm assigned to a job that requires me to learn and develop things on Pearl now. And for good, I'm also starting this blog. So, it goes to my first topic today. It is how I install Perl on my Windows XP. I'm searching through net to find Perl for windows. Then I find ActivePerl from ActiveState. The Current releases is: ActivePerl 5.8.8.820 and ActivePerl 5.6.1.638 . So, I'm gonna install this on my Windows XP PC. My steps to install Perl on Windows XP : Download ActivePerl from http://www.activestate.com . Goto ActivePerl page . Click on Get Active Perl button then click on Download button. I don't want them to send me adds mails. So, I just skip entering my email details and click Continue button because it's optional. I choose ActivePerl 5.8.8.820 . Click on the MSI link under the Windows (x86). Then my download begin. Got the file!... Then I simply install the MSI by double clicking on it. Follow the instructions... Accepting the Terms and Ne
